A riff on a riff, this version of an Old Fashioned is a sipper: strong, sophisticated, and with a bit of a bite! From our friend @little_cantina.
- 1 1/2 oz tequila reposado
- 1/2 oz mezcal
- 1/4 oz Orange Vanilla simple syrup
- 3 drops bitters
Garnish: flamed orange peel
Making it:
1. In a double old-fashioned glass, add an XL ice cube.
2. Pour each ingredient over the ice and stir for about 10 seconds to combine and chill.
3. Light a match; hold the lit match several inches above the cocktail.
4. Hold the orange peel colored side down, above the lit match.
5. Express (squeeze) the peel over the flame and then rub the peel around the rim of your glass before dropping it in.
