It is nice to have options, here are two simple Julep recipes that merely call for swapping out a syrup. A favorite for Derby parties and summer deck parties alike!
2 oz. bourbon1 oz. Royal Rose REAL Sour Mix1 egg white
Add the bourbon, sour mix and egg white to a shaker and dry shake (without ice) vigorously. Add ice and shake again 30 seconds or until tin is frosted over and contents are very frothy. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with an orange slice and a cherry, if desired.
1 cup apple cider3/4 oz. Royal Rose Cardamom Clove Syrup, or to tastesqueeze of fresh lemon juiceshot of bourbon (optional)freshly grated cinnamon
Heat the apple cider, syrup, and lemon in a small saucepan. Off heat, add the bourbon and pour into a mug. Grate cinnamon on top and enjoy!
A delicious spin on a classic. The cardamom and clove add a little bit of depth to the mixture while keeping the sweetness very light. It's still full of fattening, eggy & creamy goodness.
